Working Principle of Retrofit Emission Control Device (RECD)
The RECD is installed on the exhaust port of a DG set to reduce the harmful emissions. Then the exhaust of the diesel set passes through the RECD and ceramic filter in a stainless steel housing captures the harmful particles. A ceramic filter contains many tiny and parallel pores which is separated by thin walls and allow the air to pass. These small pores catch the dust particles(PM 2.5 to PM 10) from the diesel exhaust and reduce the emission.
Emission control system also use alkaline metals, which helps you to perform oxidation process fastly by capturing the oxygen from the air.
