What is a Dual Fuel Kit for DG Set?
Basically, a dual fuel kit is a retrofitting system that is designed to convert a diesel generator into a dual fuel generator. With this kit, the diesel Gensets are run on dual fuel: mixture of diesel and natural gas. After the installation of this kit in the DG sets, the consumption of diesel is less than before. For example, if your generators consume 10 liters of diesel per hour, with the dual fuel kit, they may consume approximately 3-4 liters of diesel per hour. The rest of energy is supplied by natural gas.
Working Principle of Retrofit Emission Control Device (RECD)
The RECD is installed on the exhaust port of a DG set to reduce the harmful emissions. Then the exhaust of the diesel set passes through the RECD and ceramic filter in a stainless steel housing captures the harmful particles. A ceramic filter contains many tiny and parallel pores which is separated by thin walls and allow the air to pass. These small pores catch the dust particles(PM 2.5 to PM 10) from the diesel exhaust and reduce the emission.
Emission control system also use alkaline metals, which helps you to perform oxidation process fastly by capturing the oxygen from the air. Normally it emission control device take some time to clean and regenerate the oxygen but ACEGET’s device has advance technology it will complete the whole process earlier than usual.

How does our Dual Fuel Conversion Kit Work?
Our dual fuel kit works, allowing diesel generators to run on a mixture of diesel and natural gas. The use of gas in dual fueling is provided either through a pipeline or local storage. There will be no changes in the existing diesel setup, just add a gas supply pipe for efficient combustion. The gas that you stored in the cylinder or a pipe passes through the pressure regulator. Then gas flows through the filter and solenoid valves to control. After that, it purifies the gas before entering into the engine. Then it allows the engine to run with the gaseous fuel that is used as a primary fuel.
The fuel gas goes to the cylinders through the Gas train into an Air-Gas Mixer that is provided by a dual fuel system. Proven gas engine components and powerful actuation and control units form the foundation of dual fuel systems. The use of two fuels improves efficiency and reduces emissions. If the gas supply is interrupted then ECU (Electronic Control Unit) switches the generator back to the 100% diesel mode.
